A Common sense approach needs to be used when making changes under the Disability Discrimination Act. Services must be provided and you must make sure that you do not discriminate against disabled customers. The law states that you should make reasonable adjustments to any physical barriers preventing disabled persons using your service. Could you bring goods to the customer? Provide better lighting and access for the disabled? Small businesses can get help in the form of free leaflets from the Disability Rights Commission and also the Department for Work and Pensions.
