It is ESSENTIAL that regular evaluations are carried out with employees if businesses are to make the most of employees, assess their worth to the business and avoid discontent.  This also helps to reduce staff turnover.  Appraisals assist management to guide and support their employees and help set objectives to improve performance.  Appraisals should be an ongoing process and issues should be dealt with as they arise.
