Education : Pupil Exchange Visits

Whether in the home country or abroad, the pupil exchange visit, mainly for language and cultural awareness education, would traditionally have been seen as a relatively safe activity, where young people gain independence, 'grow up' and develop a language skill.   In the UK the publicity given to notorious child abuse cases in more recent times has led increasingly to scrutiny in this largely untouched area of health and safety.
