Serious accidents and injuries have occurred when people have fallen through glass windows. It may be necessary to fit suitable safety film or replace with safety glazing to BS 6262 to glass at or below waist level. As an alternative, a barrier may be fitted to raise the effective height of the sill.
Any window alternations should be first discussed with the Fire Prevention Officer.
